The Marion location marks the ninth Curt’s Ace Hardware. Other locations can be found in Erwin, Elizabethton, Gray, Piney Flats and Bristol, Virginia. Curt’s Ace Hardware also has stores in Prestonburg, Kentucky and Pigeon Forge.

“Much like our Food City stores, we are excited to continue to grow and expand our Curt’s Ace Hardware family of stores,” Steven C. Smith, Food City president and CEO, said in a news release. “Sadly, locally owned hardware stores are becoming a thing of the past. Having served in the grocery industry for 40+ years, I have seen firsthand how important a local well-run supermarket is to the community and I think the same holds true for local hardware stores.”

The Curt’s Ace Hardware stores are named in honor of Smith’s grandfather.
