CUSD #3 Board of Education meets. Here's the details.

CUBA — The Board of Education of Community Unit School District #3, Fulton County, met May 16. President Sue McCance called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. with Mr. Corsaw, Mrs. Davis, Mrs. McCance, Mr. Wallace, Mr. Gorsuch and Mrs. Wilson answering roll call. Mrs. Deakin was absent

Under the Superintendent’s report, Mrs. Simmons-Kenser discussed the current finances and reviewed the fund balance report with the Board. Additionally, Simmons-Kenser discussed the summer maintenance list after a walk through with Mark Mathis. Further, she told the board about the summer technology list that she created with Mark Thompson.

She said she will keep the board updated on both summer maintenance and technology progress.

The Board then went into executive session.

The following action took place after the closed session:

•The regular and closed session minutes of the April 19 meeting were approved as presented.

•The bills of the school district for April were approved in the amount of $195,426.02.

Other items approved under consent agenda were:

•Authority to establish Imprest funds

•The Student Handbook changes for the 2022-23 school year

•Noell Coulter was added as a signatory on MHS accounts.

Under new business:

•The Board accepted the resignations of Krystina Clark, Ashley Eddington and Bridgette Dennis.

•The Board re-employed Charlotte Lindner, Mark Mathis, Mark Thompson, Justin Georges, Dawn Mustread, Regena Irwin, Jodee Mathis and Jessica Thomas for the 2022-23 school year.

•The Board employed Danielle Moss for K-12 Special Education, Griffin Brooks for summer grounds keeping and Tyson Markley for summer technology.

The next regular meeting will be held Monday, June 20, at 6:30 p.m. in the Elementary Library, 652 E. Main Street, Cuba.
