Town Administrator Robert Whritenour Jr., said the Attorney General's office has begun an investigation. The town released a statement May 12 to keep residents apprised of the situation.

In 2019, Yarmouth was selected to participate in the state's Solarize Mass Program operated by the Massachusetts Clean Energy Center. The Town received grant funding to promote residential solar energy in the town. After a competitive process conducted by the state, a Solar Wolf-SunPower proposal for installing solar panels was selected.

Records indicate that more than 50 customers are waiting for installation of their SunPower panels or SunVault batteries for which they’ve made substantial down payments, according to the statement.

Since 2011, the Solarize Massachusetts program has created more than 25,000 Kw of solar energy through 3,759 contracts in 85 communities.

"The benefit of working with an established state-run and locally supported program is that state and town officials are here to assist local homeowners in following up with claims,” Whritenour said. "The state will be able to hold their feet to the fire in this case."

State government officials are working through multiple channels to get customers the systems they are under contract to receive, Solarize Plus Yarmouth Solar Coach Mike Duffy said.

The Auburn-based Solar Wolf Energy Inc. was established in 2015 by Ted Strezelecki. The company was named one of the world's fastest growing companies in 2020 by Inc Magazine. The solar installer was ranked No. 427 because of its 1,070% growth.

Strezelecki is also listed as the president, social signatory, or agent for seven other corporations on the Secretary of State's website. They include roofing, real estate, and solar businesses. Three of them have been involuntarily dissolved by court order or the Massachusetts secretary of the Commonwealth or SOC according to state records.

Reps Timothy Whelan R-1st Barnstable, and Kip Diggs, D-2nd Barnstable, both of whom represent constituents in Yarmouth, urged customers affected by Solar Wolf Energy's actions to file a formal complaint with the Attorney General's Office and their local police department.
