The Cuyahoga Falls Community Chorus, under the direction of Ted Shure, along with assistant conductor Colleen Miller and pianist Jeffery Sonoda, will present their spring performance May 20 at 7 p.m. at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, 2121 6th St. in Cuyahoga Falls.

Shure will complete his 19th season as director of the group.

“My schedule is rich with things that I love deeply.” said Shure. “I consider it a great blessing to be able to make a living as a musician. It isn’t a job for me. It’s my passion and calling. To bring joy and beauty into people’s lives is one of the great rewards of my life.” expressed Shure. “Another joy is to see a diverse group of over 50 singers with varying abilities come together and become a wonderful ensemble who share in the joy of making music and sharing that joy with each other. I’m very proud of this ensemble!” concluded Shure.

The program will include a patriotic set that will honor the men and women of the United States Armed Forces as well as the nation's first responders. It will also honor those who have fallen in the line of duty. Many other styles of music will be represented.

The concert is free and accessible. There will be a post-concert reception hosted by St. Luke’s.

Other concerts on the Chorus’ spring schedule include appearances at the Cardinal Retirement Village, SarahCare of Stow, the Memorial Day Observance Ceremony at Oakwood Cemetery, and the Akron Rubber Ducks, performing the National Anthem (June 3).
