For the first time in several years, the Cuyahoga Falls City Schools will have a new assistant superintendent.

Jodie Hausmann, the current executive director of Connect ITC, will become the district's new assistant superintendent effective Aug, 1. At Connect, which has offices in Independence and Elyria, she is the district’s partner in helping to design a learning environment by supporting safety protocols, cybersecurity best practices, technology upgrades and data for decision-making.

"“I am honored that Ms. Hausmann has accepted the position as assistant superintendent, and I look forward to tapping into her knowledge and experience that spans numerous areas of expertise," said Superintendent Andrea Celico.

Prior to working at Connect, Hausmann was a superintendent of the Bay Village City Schools and Perkins Local Schools. She also worked for 16 years at the Parma City Schools, where she was a director of elementary teaching and learning, the Parma Park Elementary School principal, and an elementary school teacher for seven years.

Hausmann is a recipient of the 2018 Betsy M. Cowles Women in Leadership Award from the Buckeye Association of School Administrators, and in 2020 was named a “Superintendent to Watch” by the National School Public Relations Association. Additionally, during her tenure in Bay Village City Schools, the district was named a “Top Workplace in 2020.”

“The Board was excited to act on the recommendation of our superintendent and hire Mrs. Hausmann," said Anthony Gomez, school board president. "Her experience is exactly what we need to continue the hard work of improving education for our students and fulfilling our mission of providing every student with every opportunity, every day.”

Hausmann earned her superintendent and principal's licenses at Cleveland State University and her masters in educational technology at Baldwin Wallace University. She also earned her bachelor of science in elementary education at Cleveland State University. Hausmann and husband Mike are parents of two adult daughters who both serve in the health care industry.
