Cuyahoga Falls track performs well at Suburban League meet

Ellie Brustoski turned in quite a performance at the Suburban League Track and Field Championship May 9 and 10 at Tallmadge.

The Cuyahoga Falls junior captured the high jump in the American Conference with a leap of 5 feet, 3 inches. She also finished third in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 16.82 seconds and fourth in the 300 hurdles with a time of 49.81.

Overall, the Black Tigers finished seventh out of eight teams in the American Conference with 41.33 points. Aurora won the competition with 152 points.

Highland finished second with 150 points and Kent Roosevelt was third with 97.5 points.

Alyssa Walters finished fourth in the discus with a throw of 101-3.

Natalie Ball finished eighth in the long jump with a leap of 15-7.75.

Sonia Hammonds tied for eighth in the pole vault with a vault of 7 feet.

Also placing eighth was Kayla Kester in the 3,200 with a clocking of 13:31.45.

Maia Mendez, Ruby Masl, Riley Koehler and Natalie Polidoro teamed to finish fourth in the 800 relay with a time of 1:52.17.

Mendez, Hammonds, Madison Van Curen and Reaghan Moore joined forces to finish sixth in the 400 relay with a time of 54.49.

Mendez, Moore, Emma Johnson and Grace Fratz teamed to finish sixth in the 1,600 relay with a time of 4:31.79.

Kloey Dunford, Teagan Barnett, Hailey Testa and Kaitlyn Clark joined forces to place seventh in the 3,200 relay with a clocking of 10:53.4.

The Cuyahoga Falls boys track and field team also finished seventh out of eight teams in the conference with 33 points. Tallmadge won the competition with 146 points. Aurora finished second with 144.5 points and Highland was third with 126.5 points.

Koby Dunford finished fourth in the 1,600 with a time of 4:26.48. Jacob Norton finished eighth with a time of 4:39.49. Dunford also placed seventh in the 3,200 with a time of 10:20.61.

In the 800 Andrew Wegner finished sixth with a time of 2:04.78.

Aeron Jenkins finished fifth in the 100 with a time of 11.67 and sixth in the 200 with a clocking of 23.52.

Dunford, Norton, Wegner and Ethaniel Hatfield teamed to finish fifth in the 3,200 relay with a time of 8:26.7.

Jenkins, Zavier Lindsey-Gladney, Lahai Kanneh and Owen Wallace joined forces to finish sixth in the 400 relay with a time of 45.53.

Wallace, Corbin Luksza, Joey Moening and Daniel Masl teamed to place seventh in the 1,600 relay with a time of 3:56.33.

In the shot put Zac Dalton finished sixth with a toss of 42-1.5.

Tristan Ohler placed seventh in the discus with a throw of 107-2.

Masl was eighth in the long jump with a leap of 20-2.75.
