Cuzzo’s Cuisine opens third restaurant, this time at a popular Charlotte shopping center

A popular Charlotte restaurant known for Southern fare and comfort foods like red velvet waffles is debuting its third restaurant during the holiday shopping season.

Cuzzo’s Cuisine opens at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the food court at Charlotte Premium Outlets, 5428 New Fashion Way, according to the restaurant’s social media sites. The Steele Creek spot had initially expected to open in September.

Reaction to Cuzzo’s new opening was swift just hours after announcing the opening on social media, with congratulations and excitement.

“Don’t play with me!!!! I will move my office to the food court today!!!!,” Renee Armstead said on Cuzzo’s Facebook page.

For three years every Saturday, Cuzzo’s had parked its food truck at the shopping center off Interstate 485.

“It’s a great opportunity to reach more customers,” DJ Blocker, general manager of Cuzzo’s University store, previously told The Charlotte Observer.

The store will have about 16 full- and part-time employees.
