Matthew Luecke scored two goals to guide visiting Copley (7-2-2) to a non-league win over the Polar Bears (5-4-1) on Thursday night.

Western Reserve Academy 3, Grand River Academy 0

Owen Averell scored two goals and Chris Turk netted one goal to lead the Pioneers (7-0-2). Basti Lizares and Christian Tan each had an assist for WRA, and goalkeeper Brennan Christian made five saves to record a shutout.

BOYS GOLF

Green 149, Perry 181

Junior Evan Raymond shot a season-best 1-under par 35 at the Legends of Massillon to lead the Bulldogs to a Federal League victory.

Kyle Smith (37), Silas Kirkpatrick (38) and Trez Cobb (39) all broke 40 as Green improved to 5-1 in conference matches.

Metro Athletic Conference Championship

Norton won the MAC tournament title at Sable Creek Golf Course in Hartville and Springfield earned the overall conference championship with a fourth-place finish.

Coventry junior Ryan Dinan earned the medalist honor Thursday by carding an even par 72.

VOLLEYBALL

Highland 26-25-25, Tallmadge 24-17-23

Alayna Tessena totaled 15 kills and 16 digs to lead Highland (10-1, 8-0 SLAC) to a win over Tallmadge (9-4, 4-3).

Copley 25-18-25-22-16, Aurora 22-25-16-25-14

Alexa Strandberg spiked down 17 kills to lead Copley (10-3, 6-3 SLAC) past Aurora (9-6, 5-3). Copley’s Shelby Emich had 42 assists, Lydia Pavlovich contributed 22 digs and Kayla Kemer had 17 service points.

GIRLS SOCCER

Manchester 2, CVCA 1

Katie Norris scored two goals to lead the Panthers (12-2-2) to a win. Hannah Koons netted a goal for the Royals (8-2-2).

Ellet 5, Norton 2

Sydney Tucker scored three times and Alessandra Pinto contributed two goals to lead Ellet (9-2) to a victory.

TENNIS

Norton 5, St. Vincent-St. Mary 0

Katarina Jovanovic earned a win at first singles to lead Norton (17-3) past STVM (2-11).

Norton’s Addie Kropp and Corisa Thomas were victorious at second singles and third singles, respectively.Norton’s Faith Brunty and Olivia Gray won at first doubles and Paris Silverstein and Addison Vickery teamed up to triumph at second doubles.
