New CVG flight: American Airlines is adding daily, nonstop service to Raleigh-Durham

Starting next year, American Airlines is adding new nonstop service between Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport and Raleigh-Durham International Airport in North Carolina.

The new daily flight from CVG to RDU in Raleigh will begin Jan. 10, and American Airlines will fly the Embraer 175 aircraft with 12 first class and 64 economy seats. Tickets for the upcoming flights are available for purchase now.

The direct service to Raleigh will be American Airlines' 12th destination with nonstop service from CVG. Other nonstop service cities include Austin, Texas; Phoenix; and Washington, D.C., with hundreds of one-stop service destinations year-round.

“American Airlines is excited to connect Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport and Raleigh-Durham with new daily nonstop service this January,” Philippe Puech, American Airlines Director of Short-Haul Network Planning, said in a release. “We expect this route will appeal to both business and leisure customers alike, offering a time-saving option between the two regions.”

Here's the planned schedule:

  • CVG to RDU: Departs 8:15 p.m., arrives 9:50 p.m. daily.

  • RDU to CVG: Departs 7 a.m., arrives 8:45 a.m. daily.
