CVG's wait times among shortest in US, per new study
Waiting in lines can be the worst part about traveling. But the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG) luckily has some of the quickest in the country.
CVG recently ranked fifth among U.S. airports with the shortest wait times in a new study by Bounce Luggage Storage, a site which helps travelers find places to store their luggage. According to the study, CVG's average security wait time was 6 minutes, 6 seconds, and passport control wait time was 12 minutes, 24 seconds, combining for an average wait time of 18 minutes, 30 seconds.
To determine its rankings, Bounce evaluated average wait and flight processing data from TSA Wait Times and the U.S. Customs and Border Protection.
The Baltimore/Washington International Airport in Maryland had the shortest wait time, with an average of 14 minutes, 48 seconds. The San Antonio International Airport, the San Jose International Airport and the Newark Liberty International Airport were also among the top five airports with shortest wait times.

The John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York City had the longest wait time in the U.S., with a combined average of 48 minutes, 24 seconds. The study cites increased pressure on infrastructure and staff due to a large volume of international and domestic passengers as the cause for longer wait times at passport control and security checkpoints.
Other airports with long wait times were the San Francisco International Airport (a 47-minute, 18-second average), the Miami International Airport (45 minutes, 54 seconds), the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (42 minutes) and the Orlando International Airport (40 minutes, 12 seconds).
