Cynthia Nixon lent her star power to Councilman Antonio Reynoso, endorsing his run for Brooklyn borough president.

“New York City needs progressive fighters, and that’s why Brooklyn needs Antonio Reynoso as its next borough president,” the actress and one-time gubernatorial candidate said in a Tuesday statement.

“I am excited to endorse Antonio because he has fought for and delivered real progressive victories — from increasing resources for our public hospitals and women’s health to funding for our schools to demanding police accountability — throughout his career,” she added.

Support from the “Sex and the City” star — who many progressives backed in her unsuccessful challenge to Gov. Cuomo in 2018 — bolsters Reynoso’s bid to become the candidate of choice for Brooklyn liberals.

He was one of the few Council Democrats to vote against the controversial 2021 budget, agreeing with activists that it didn’t go far enough to defund the NYPD.

Reynoso was also endorsed Tuesday by Councilwomen Helen Rosenthal (D-Manhattan) and Margaret Chin (D-Manhattan), state Sen. Jessica Ramos (D-Queens) and Assemblywoman-elect Marcela Mitaynes (D-Brooklyn), along with Brooklyn City Council candidates Jennifer Gutiérrez and Sandy Nurse.

“I am honored to have the support of these progressive champions. Our borough’s future depends on us working together to bring about the changes we need to ensure a just recovery for our working families,” Reynoso said in a statement.

He was previously endorsed by city Public Advocate Jumaane Williams, a Democrat, and state Sen. Julia Salazar (D-Brooklyn).

Ten Brooklyn borough president candidates including Councilman Robert Cornegy have registered with the city’s Campaign Finance Board.

City First Lady Chirlane McCray recently said she wouldn’t run in the race.
