Czech Republic preparing to hand over T-72 tanks to Ukraine

Fiala personally signed the barrel of one of the tanks, writing a short message of support to Ukrainian troops.

“On (one of) the T-72 tank, which will go to Ukraine, I wrote a short message to the brave Ukrainian defenders,” said Fiala.

“I believe that the Ukrainians will win the fight against Russian aggressors.”

He added that Ukraine will receive a TREVA 30 armored recovery vehicle.

“During my visit to Czech Excalibur army arsenal, I also had a chance to christen the new TREVA 30 recovery vehicle, which can help Ukraine in the future,” said the PM.

On Dec. 21, the Czech Republic received the first of 14 Leopard-2 tanks from Germany, which should replace Soviet-era T-72 tanks.
