The boat bore an Alabama registration and had six people on board at the time of the crash, according to an earlier release. Staff of the Northside Marina, a marina at Sesuit Harbor, confirmed on July 24 that the boat, a Regulator 26, had been docked there.

Mauro was remembered by her school with a gathering at the school library on July 24, according to Dover-Sherborn principal John Smith, who said of Mauro in a letter to the school community that “she had a heart of gold and the sweetest spirit.”
