DA: Man sentenced to life in prison for child molestation

TULARE COUNTY, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – A 26-year-old man was sentenced to life in prison for child molestation, according to the Tulare County District Attorney’s Office.

The DA says a Tulare County Superior Court court sentenced Luis Gutierrez on Wednesday.

Officials say on December 11 Gutierrez pleaded no contest to three counts of felony child molestation with the special allegations that there was substantial sexual contact and that there were multiple victims.

According to the DA, the crimes were committed in the Porterville area between 2015 and 2019 against two minor females and one minor male.

Gutierrez must register as a sex offender for life. Under current California sentencing laws, Gutierrez must serve 25 years before being considered for parole.
