Dad Makes Daughters a 'Fake Movie Theatre' During Coronavirus Lockdown

Clint Chappell, a dad in British Columbia, created a “fake movie theatre” for his wife and two young daughters so the entire family could pass time together watching movies during the coronavirus lockdown.

Chappell, from Prince George, the largest city in northern British Columbia, Canada, shared a video of his homemade theater on March 25 in response to John Krasinski’s calls online for #somegoodnews, a social media initiative the actor started the week before amid the coronavirus pandemic.

“#somegoodnews we made our daughters a fake movie theatre to watch @DisneyFrozen and @BrockmireIFC for us later that night!” Chappell wrote on Twitter.

The homemade theater includes a unique menu where snacks like popcorn and chocolate-covered blueberries can be paid for with hugs and kisses – except for beer, which is free to all adults.

First up was a screening of Frozen 2 for the children, before a screening of an episode of the comedy Brockmire for the parents, Chappell said.

Many people online have shared feel-good moments in response to Krasinski’s call, including Lauren Poland, whose video of her young cat playing with a fidget spinner was later shared online by Krasinski. Credit: Clint Chappell via Storyful
