Daily coronavirus updates: Connecticut records another large drop in COVID-19 positivity rate, hospitalizations, deaths
Connecticut recorded large drops across its COVID-19 metrics Monday, continuing a weekslong positive trend.
Cases and positivity
Connecticut reported 115 new COVID-19 cases since Friday out of 32,498 tests, for a positivity rate of 0.35%, second lowest of any day during the pandemic.
The state’s seven-day positivity rate now stands at 0.49%, lowest of at any point during the pandemic.
Hospitalizations
As of Monday, Connecticut has 50 patients hospitalized with COVID, down 21 from Friday and the fewest at a time since Sept. 8.
Deaths
Connecticut reported two coronavirus-linked deaths Monday, bringing its total to 8,263 during the pandemic.
The United States is on the verge of passing 600,000 total COVID-19 deaths, having recorded 599,907 as of Monday, according to the Coronavirus Resource Center at Johns Hopkins University.
Vaccination
As of Monday, 65% of all Connecticut residents and 75% of those 12 and older have received at least one COVID-19 vaccine dose, while 57% of all residents and 66% of those 12 and older are fully vaccinated, according to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
