Daily Digit: Boozy shopping is a thing — and it's way more common than you might think

Daily Digit is the story behind the numbers that make our world work. Today we’re looking at the crossroads of two of America’s favorite leisure activities: drinking alcohol and shopping. According to new research by Finder, 46% of adults who drink alcohol admit they regularly shop online while under the influence. That’s about 68 million Americans boozing, browsing, and ultimately purchasing an estimated $30.4 billion worth of goods per year. Buzzed shopping has more than doubled in the last year, with average yearly spend per shopper going from $206 in 2017 to an estimated $448 in 2018. Have you shopped under the influence?
