The "Hips Don't Lie" singer was set to go on trial on tax fraud charges in Barcelona on Monday but has struck a deal with Spanish prosecutors, according to The Associated Press. She was accused of failing to pay $15.8 million in taxes in Spain between 2012 and 2014, during which time her official residence was in the Bahamas. The agreement will see her pay a fine of more than $8 million and receive a suspended three-year sentence. The article described how the studio uses Lewis Newplast to mold its stop-motion characters, but the only factory that made it closed up shop earlier this year, leaving Aardman with only enough materials for one more movie. "After that, until a suitable replacement can be found, or invented, that's it," The Telegraph reported. But on Monday, Aardman reassured fans that there’s "absolutely no need to worry." Apparently, the studio has "high levels of existing stocks of modeling clay to service current and future productions," and Aardman has also been "tinkering away behind the scenes for quite some time with plans in place to ensure a smooth transition to new stocks to continue to make our iconic productions."
