Daily Press will change its print schedule, still deliver news you need

As more and more people read news online, the Daily Press will change its print delivery frequency beginning June 27.

The Daily Press will stop home delivery on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. Print subscribers will be provided with a complete digital replica of the newspaper Monday through Saturday, including news, advertising, and features such as comics and puzzles.

The new model means subscribers will get newspapers delivered to their homes two days a week (Thursdays and Saturdays), with a digital newspaper available Mondays through Saturdays.

The digital replica, or e-Edition, will have the same look and news as the printed newspaper. The digital format has additional features, such as clip and sharing articles and adjusting the text size. Many of our readers are already loyal users of the e-Edition, which is a handy way to read the news when you’re on the go or out of town. To access it, simply click the e-Edition menu at the top of vvdailypress.com.

Subscribers can also download and use our e-Edition app on Apple's App store or the Google Play store. That means if you are interested in news from publications such as the Ventura County Star, Arizona Republic, or Austin American Statesman, you can do it all from within the e-Edition. In addition, subscribers of the Daily Press will now have access to the USA TODAY Network’s full suite of e-Editions across the country and ad-free access to the USA TODAY Crossword puzzle.

With the frequency of print publication changes, the delivery of the paper will also change. Starting after June 27, print subscribers will have their print copies of the Daily Press delivered by the United States Post Office.

The Daily Press is part of the USA TODAY Network, including more than 200 publications nationwide. The Daily Press change being announced this week also is taking place at several other publications in the network.

The changes are in response to subscriber and advertising trends.

“I know for our loyal print readers, this is a major change. What won’t change at the Daily Press is our commitment as journalists to report the news fairly, accurately, and timely across the platforms we have,” said James Ward, local news editor.

As part of these print delivery changes, subscription prices will decrease depending on subscribers' current plans.

All print subscribers of the Daily Press have full digital access to www.vvdailypress.com, and on mobile apps available in Apple's App store or the Google Play store meaning they can read news updates throughout the day, subscriber-only stories, and video and audio features, among other benefits. Subscribers also have 24/7 access to obituaries, legal notices, and classifieds on our website.

News and sales staffing at the Daily Press will not change.

Readers with questions about the change can access their account at help.vvdailypress.com/contact-us or call customer service at 1-760-241-7755.
