Daisy Jones & the Six creators tease potential season 2

Daisy Jones & the Six creators Scott Neustadter and Lauren Neustadter have teased the possibility for a second season.

The musical drama, starring Sam Claflin and Riley Keough, was billed as a limited series, but writer Scott and executive producer Lauren are more than happy if it became un-limited.

Lauren told Variety: "If any time Amazon came to us and said, 'What would it be?', we would put our little thinking caps on about it."

Scott added: "It's super fun to sit and talk to Taylor [Jenkins Read, the novel's author] for hours about where we think we could take this next. It was a calculated move to move [the flash forwards] to their 40s. There's a lot of life left to live, so there could be a future."

One thing that is happening, or at least was planned to before SAG-AFTRA went on strike (meaning actors cannot do anything that would count as promotion for a major studio movie or TV show) is a concert series featuring the actors performing live as their characters in the band.

Lauren explained that: "We're not giving up. I believe they will perform. The question is when."

Reflecting on the show's journey from book to screen, Scott explained one of the biggest difficulties they faced: "All adaptations have their own unique challenges. But this one was, how are we going to make this music that keeps being referred to in this book as timeless and extraordinary?

"The bar is super high to convince everyone watching that like, 'This is not just a real band, but a great real band.'"
