It's pretty easy to recognize Dakota Johnson. Maybe you remember her from any one of the Fifty Shades of Grey films or just watched Maggie Gyllenhaal's adaptation of The Lost Daughter on Netflix.
Off camera, Dakota is famously private — we know next to nothing about her long-term relationship with Coldplay's Chris Martin, and she recently talked about being a homebody in an interview with Elle UK.
Despite this, many of us have seen personal family photos of her as a child, mostly thanks to her mom Melanie Griffith.
Dakota isn't a huge fan of these throwbacks on social media. She shared some thoughts on having grown up with celebrity parents — both Melanie and Dakota's father, Don Johnson, are actors — and seeing photos of herself as a kid on Instagram during an appearance on The Late Late Show with James Corden this week.
"I don't like it, but I also don't go on social media, so I don't find out about it until it's really baked into the Internet," she explained. "And somebody will send it to me like, 'Oh, you were so ugly, or you were so cute, when you had braces and a slicked back ponytail.'"
Dakota then recalled moments where she's, apparently unsuccessfully, attempted to confront Melanie about the pictures.
"I become like a 12-year-old and I'm like, 'Mom, you can't do that. We've had this conversation so many times!'" she shared. Melanie's response?
