Dakota Wesleyan volleyball swept in top-25 matchup at Dordt

Sep. 8—SIOUX CENTER, Iowa. — Dakota Wesleyan's first foray into Great Plains Athletic Confernece volleyball for 2022 was a rough one on Wednesday night, as the No. 17 Tigers were taken down by No. 23 Dordt in three sets. Set scores were 25-22, 25-19 and 25-15.

DWU's Ady Dwight led the Tigers in kills with 13, with 11 from Mitchell product Mackenzie Miller and seven from Mariah Gloe and Abby Brunsing had six. Hanna Reiff had a team-best 14 digs and Madeline Else had 37 assists. The Tigers had six service errors and did not log an ace for the first time this season, while finishing the night with 21 attack errors and a season-low hitting percentage of .133.

After six hitting errors in the opening set, Dordt had just five over the next two sets, and hit .467 in the final set to claim the victory. The Defenders also won at the net, with 11 total blocks to DWU's three. Dordt's Grace Langemeier had 12 kills for the Defenders (7-2, 1-0 GPAC) in the win.

DWU (7-2, 0-1 GPAC) has its home opener match on Friday, Sept. 9 against Briar Cliff at the Christen Family Athletic Center, with first serve set for 7:30 p.m.
