Dakota Wesleyan's Madeline Else honored as GPAC setter of the week

Oct. 5—Dakota Wesleyan's Madeline Else was named the Great Plains Athletic Conference's volleyball setter of the week on Tuesday.

Else, a junior from Holstein, Iowa, had 73 assists on the week as the Tigers split a pair of GPAC matches.

She piled up 39 assists in a three-set sweep over Morningside and had 34 assists in a loss at Northwestern. For the week, she averaged 10.43 assists per set. She also had 20 digs and three blocks in the two matches.

For the season, Else has 690 assists, or 11.31 assists per set, which ranks No. 6 in the NAIA. She also has 31 service aces, 22 blocks and 24 kills.

The Tigers, who entered Tuesday's match with Dakota State with a record of 16-2 and 6-1 in the GPAC, host No. 1-ranked Jamestown on Friday, Oct. 8. First serve is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. at the Christen Family Athletic Center.
