"It will be a family oriented, fun event," said Mike Jarrett, president and CEO of Jarrett  Logistics Systems. "It's a great opportunity to see NASCAR legends and see Josh Berry and the Jarrett car. And there will be food and ice cream from Orr Valley Creamery."

Berry is the driver the company is sponsoring this year in the NASCAR Xfinity Series, while Orr Valley Creamery is a new ice cream shop in Orrville the business is opening shortly before the Race Rally, Jarrett said.

Jarrett is the primary sponsor for three of Berry's races, including one in Indianapolis two days after the Race Rally and another in October at Talladega Superspeedway in Alabama. The third one was in May in Fort Worth, Indiana, where he finished seventh overall. The following week he won at Charlotte, one of the other 30 races where Jarrett is a secondary sponsor.

The Xfinity Series is promoted as NASCAR's "minor league" circuit, and is considered a  proving ground for drivers who wish to step up to the organization's top level circuit, the NASCAR Cup Series.

"I'm happy with how Josh has performed," Jarrett said. "He has been in the top 10 most races and top five a majority of his races."

During the Jarrett Race Rally, Berry will be in the crowd signing autographs. He is part of the JR Motorsports team, which Dale Earnhardt Jr. co-owns.

Highlight of event will be a Q & A with Dale Jarrett and Dale Earnhardt Jr.

Earnhardt Jr.'s hourlong question-and-answer session with Dale Jarrett, signed this year as a spokesperson for Jarrett Logistics, from 5-6 p.m. will be the highlight of the Race Rally, Mike Jarrett said.

"People will be excited to see Dale and Dale up on the stage," Mike Jarrett said.

The two Jarretts aren't related by the way.

"When we signed him we met and did some video shoots and tried to decide if there is a connection there, but we couldn't find one," Mike Jarrett said.

"When I was a kid. I watched some NASCAR, I wasn't a rabid fan, but I watched him because he was a famous driver with the same last name," Jarrett added. "So it was fun to meet him."

A team from Jarrett also visited Earnhardt Jr. this year in Mooresville, North Carolina, where JR Motorsports, which has three other drivers in the Xfinity Series. is based.

Jarrett said Earnhardt Jr. was "a great guy and very down to earth," which impressed Jarrett considering how famous Earnhardt Jr. is.

Jarrett Race Rally will include food, music, giveaways and a magician

Last year was the first year for Jarrett sponsoring a racer and a having a race rally on a smaller scale. The company sponsored driver Jeffrey Earnhardt, Dale Earnhardt Jr.'s nephew who drives for a different racing team, for a few races.

"Last year we dipped our toe into it," Jarrett said. "The response has been really strong on social media, so we're looking forward to having a big turnout this year."

Grace Bjordahl, marketing intern for Jarrett Logistics, said there is plenty of room on the campus outside of the company's headquarters to accommodate as many people who show up for the outdoor event.

"We want to get as many people as we can to come down to get them excited about what we're doing," Bjordahl said.

In addition to the Q&A and food and ice cream, there will be a disc jockey playing music, giveaways and professional magician Rick Smith Jr. from Cleveland who is best known for his three world records for throwing a playing card the greatest distance, greatest height and most accurately, according to Wikipedia, which also reports he has had numerous nationally televised performances.

Smith Jr. will entertain the crowd 4-5 p.m. and serve as the master of ceremonies for the Q&A. The last hour (6-7 p.m.) will include more food, music and giveaways. People can register at www.gojarrett.com/jarrettracerally to win a free T-shirt while supplies last at the event, which also will include launching some T-shirts into the crowd.

Jarrett Logistics makes the Cleveland Plain Dealer Top Workplaces list

Besides doing the event for brand awareness, Jarrett said it's also for employee,  customer and community engagement with the drivers, especially for his 260 employees.

"We start with our employees with everything we do," he said. "We were just named by the (Cleveland) Plain Dealer for its Top Workplaces prestigious award for the fifth time in the past seven years."

Winning the award is based solely on employee feedback gathered through a third-party survey administered by research partner Energage, LLC, according to a news release, which added that the anonymous survey measures several aspects of workplace culture, including alignment, execution and connection.

"That award exemplifies this particular event," Jarrett said. "We want our employees to feel part of the process and engagement with the opportunity to meet Dale and Dale."
