Dale Earnhardt Jr., Wife and Child All Okay After Fiery Plane Crash in Tennessee

Racing superstar Dale Earnhardt Jr., along with his wife and 1-year-old daughter, were involved in a plane crash on Thursday afternoon after their plane ran off the runway and caught fire.

The crash occured at Elizabethton Municipal Airport in Tennessee. No one was killed in the crash and there were no serious injuries. Dale was the only person transported to Johnson City Medical Center with cuts and abrasions.

According to the FAA, the plane rolled off the end of a runway after landing.

Earnhardt's sister Kelley gave an update on everyone's condition, saying, "I can confirm Dale, Amy & Isla along with his two pilots were involved in a crash in Bristol TN this afternoon. Everyone is safe and has been taken to the hospital for further evaluation. We have no further information at this time. Thank you for your understanding."

In addition to the Earnhardts, two pilots and a family dog were on the plane.

The National Transportation Safety Board will investigate the crash.

The Elizabethton airport is located near Bristol Motor Speedway, the site of Saturday night’s NASCAR Cup Series race. Earnhardt Jr. is scheduled to be an analyst for the race for NBC Sports, where he has worked since retiring from racing in 2017.
