Dale and Jean Brose celebrating 50th anniversary

Mr. and Mrs. Dale H. Brose of Monroe are observing their golden wedding anniversary today. Mass at St. Michael Catholic Church and a family dinner at Monroe Golf and Country Club are planned.

Mr. Brose married Jean M. Rohr Aug. 18, 1973, at St. Catherine Church, Toledo.

The couple’s children and their spouses are Joel and Kari Brose of Allendale, Aaron and Jamie Brose of Batavia, Ohio, and Janelle and Ryan Hermes of East Lansing. They also have 10 grandchildren.

Mr. Brose was the Monroe County Michigan State University Extension service director for 30 years, retiring in 2003.

A graduate of Ida High School and Jackson Community College, he received a Bachelor of Science degree from MSU and a Master of Art degree from the University of Toledo. He is a member of the Monroe Rotary Club, Monroe Port Commission and City of Monroe Brownfield. He enjoys golfing.

Mrs. Brose worked for Springfield Schools, Holland, Ohio, for two years and for Quincy Community Schools for two years. She worked for 25 years for St. Michael Catholic School.

She received Bachelor of Education and Master of Art degrees from UT. She enjoys church activities and attending card club gatherings.

The Broses are members of St. Michael Catholic Church and enjoy traveling and attending their grandchildren’s sporting events and activities.
