KEY ACTION  With Commissioner Mike Welch absent, James Justice and Denny Bittle approved a variety of financial transfers and appropriations. One of the major appropriations went to Dale-Roy Trust in the amount of $50,000 to allow work to be done to the playground area before construction begins.

“This is to get the ground ready,” Justice said. “I hear it is going to be a full, new playground. I am glad to see it happen.”

Five agencies transfer funds

Commissioners had $75,000 transferred to Dog & Kennel for expenses and a total of $7,762.44 in two transfers for an employee retirement.

The Health Department had an $8,009.40 transfer to CARES Act to keep grant funding separate. Later in the meeting the money was appropriated.

Other transfers were to G&MV ($4,000) for unemployment expenses, Mental Health ($18,500) for supplies in a pair of transfers and to cover the cost of a visiting judge and Juvenile Detention had a $3,041.57 transfer for contract services.The processing of a release of mortgage for property at 506 Broad St. in Ashland was authorized for Jacob and Bethany Blasdel.

Multiple appropriation authorized

The Ashland County Board of Elections made appropriations for employee wages and Medicare. Inmate Commissary also had two appropriations totaling $10,000 to be used for supplies.

CARES Act had four funds appropriated dealing with wages, PERS/STRS, Medicare and insurance premiums.

About $12,557 was appropriated for real property tax for a second half tax settlement distribution and Dog & Kennel had four appropriations for wages, PERS, contract services and supplies.
