Dallas Cowboys coach Mike McCarthy said it best.

It’s time for the team and free agent receiver Odell Beckham to get in front of each other.

The courting from afar is over.

The two sides will officially meet on Monday with a full itinerary, including a complete physical so the training staff can gauge Beckham’s recovery from a torn ACL, suffered in the Super Bowl with the Los Angeles Rams last February.

If all things check out then talks will begin on a contract.

McCarthy will sit down with Beckham and hopes the visit ends with a deal.

Owner Jerry Jones will be heavily involved.

“I’m excited he’ll be coming in on Monday,” Jones told 105.3FM the Fan on Friday. “In the meantime, we’re doing a lot of work regarding [his] physical conditioning — things like that — so all of that is working.”

Beckham has already visited the New York Giants and Buffalo Bills.

The Cowboys are getting the last opportunity to make an impression and they are in the driver’s seat.

No team has been more public about their interest in Beckham than the Cowboys.

And, per a source, the Cowboys have been quietly coveting Beckham since last season when he was cut by the Cleveland Browns and eventually landed with the Rams on an incentive-laden, one-year deal.

Then it was a case of a healthy Beckham, who had gone through a full training camp. McCarthy loved his catch radius and athleticism.

The interest remains but the circumstances has changed with Beckham being idle since the Super Bowl.

What is his health? What is his conditioning? When he will be able to play and contribute?

Those are things the Cowboys want to get their arms around on Monday.

But they want and believe they need him to put them over their quest to make a Super Bowl run 2022, per Jones.

Beckham, however, has made it clear that he wants a multi-year deal and possible permanent home.

He has no interest in just being a hired gun for the playoffs.

The Giants have already acknowledged they are willing to do a multi-year deal with Beckham.

And the Cowboys are open that as well, as long as the medical checks out.

But the final decision will come down to who gives him the best financial package.

And it could come as soon when the visit concludes on Monday.
