The Dallas Cowboys worst fears were realized when a MRI confirmed that Pro Bowl cornerback Trevon Diggs is out of the season after suffering a torn ACL in practice.
Diggs suffered a knee injury in practice Thursday.
He hobbled off the field and was seen walking past the Cowboys locker room on crutches.
“I’m not gonna speak on anything, way too early,” quarterback Dak Prescott said during his press conference. “Hoping for the best, simple as that.”
The Cowboys weren’t confident on getting good news about Diggs and the MRI results confirmed their worst fears.
The Cowboys would likely start DeRon Bland at cornerback opposite Stephon Gilmore with Jourdan Lewis playing slot against the Cardinals on Sunday.
Dallas plays at Arizona on Sunday at 3:25 p.m. start CT.
