Dallas rapper Mo3 killed in 'brazen’ interstate shooting

A young Dallas-based rapper has been identified as the victim of a fatal shooting that took place Wednesday on Interstate 35E.

Melvin Noble, 28, who went by the name Mo3, was fatally shot Wednesday when an armed driver exited his vehicle and began shooting, striking Noble and another nearby driver, The Dallas Morning News reports.

Noble was shot multiple times along with an innocent bystander, both of whom were transported to a local hospital. There, Noble died of his wounds. The other party suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

The attack occurred shortly before noon local time Wednesday on northbound I-35 at Clarendon Drive, according to a police-issued bulletin.

“You think of the location and all the people who could be standing around or the other innocent people who could have been seriously injured,” police spokesman Sgt. Warren Mitchell told The Dallas Morning News. “I don’t know a better word to describe it other than ‘brazen.’ I mean, in broad daylight [with] several cars around.”

The suspect is a Black male who has yet to be identified and fled in a dark sedan. Police have not determined a motive and do not know whether Noble was targeted.

Many of the city’s homicides this year have happened “between people that know each other,” Assistant Chief Avery Moore said Wednesday during an online news conference.
