Damage to Carnival Glory Cruise Ship Visible After Port of Cozumel Crash

Two Carnival Cruise Line ships collided at the port of Cozumel in Mexico on Friday, December 20, as the Carnival Legend plowed into the back of its sister ship, the Carnival Glory, causing visible damage to the ship’s stern.

A statement from the company said that the incident occurred when “Carnival Glory was maneuvering to dock when it made contact with Carnival Legend which was already alongside.”

Noting that there was “one reported minor injury,” the statement also said, “We are assessing the damage but there are no issues that impact the seaworthiness of either ship. We have advised guests from both ships to enjoy their day ashore in Cozumel.”
