Damage and Casualties in Malatya Following Latest Earthquake

The Turkish city of Malatya was hit by a magnitude-5.6 earthquake on Monday, February 27, killing at least one person and injuring 69, according to Turkey’s Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD).

Footage overlooking Malatya shows damage in multiple areas in the city.

AFAD said one person had died, 69 people were injured, and 29 buildings were destroyed in Monday’s quake. Search and rescue missions were ongoing.

The city had already been damaged by quakes on February 6.
