Damage in Lafitte, Louisiana, Evident 8 Days After Ida's Landfall

Towns in coastal Louisiana faced a long road to recovery after a Category 4 hurricane made landfall in the region on August 29. Footage shared by Jefferson Parish Councilman Scott Walker shows the scene in Lafitte as of September 6.

Roads in the Jefferson Parish town were covered in mud and water days after the hurricane’s landfall, footage shows.

Parts of the state were still without power after Labor Day, according to an Entergy outage map.
