"From day one, Russia has been striking at medical infrastructure almost daily," the ministry said.

“At least 978 medical facilities have been destroyed or damaged by the occupiers' missiles and shells. In addition, 650 ambulances and at least 596 pharmacies have been damaged or destroyed.”

The Ministry of Health also points out that Russia has inflicted the greatest damage to medical infrastructure in four oblasts:

  • Donetsk - $768 million;

  • Kharkiv - $618 million;

  • Chernihiv - $259 million;

  • Luhansk - at least $188 million.

According to Health Minister Viktor Lyashko, the department’s team is consolidating efforts with international partners to comprehensively assess the losses of the medical system from the Russian invasion.

In total, $16.4 billion are needed to restore the healthcare system after damage caused by the hostilities.
