Detroit Lions coach Dan Campbell's Monday news conference: Here's what he said

Detroit Lions head coach Dan Campbell will take the stand Monday.

Campbell has his first after-game Monday news conference of the season, following the Lions' 38-35 loss Sunday to the Philadelphia Eagles. Scroll down for live updates from reporters on the scene.

The Lions nearly came back vs. the favored Eagles, but could not get the Eagles off the field. But Jared Goff and the Lions offense scored 21 points in the second half to trim the Eagles lead so there's that. Goff finished 21 of 37 for 215 yards, two touchdowns and an interception, and the Lions ran for 181 yards (the Eagles ran for 216).

D'Andre Swift delighted fantasy owners with 144 yards and a touchdown rushing as well as 31 yards receiving (on three receptions for you PPR players out there). Amon-Ra St. Brown led the Lions with eight catches for 64 yards and a touchdown.

NOT TOO BAD:These are not your 'Same Old Lions.' The home opener showed that.

Next up, the Lions have a very winnable game Sunday against the Washington Commanders at Ford Field (1 p.m.). Washington needed 14 points in the fourth quarter to beat the Jacksonville Jaguars at home, 28-22.
