It might be tough for some Xavier basketball fans to root for head coach Dan Hurley and the Connecticut Huskies in the NCAA tournament Final Four.

But for the root-for-the-rest-of-the-conference XU fans in addition to Cincinnati Bengals fans, UConn might provide a rooting interest in Houston.

Hurley, who has said he's been a fan of the Bengals since the Freezer Bowl, was seen in a photo during the broadcast of UConn's Elite Eight win Saturday night against Gonzaga wearing a Bengals hat as he stood next to assistant coach (and former XU assistant) Luke Murray.

And after the game, Hurley told TBS' Lauren Shehadi how he feels about the Big East.

"(We) just kind of got back to the team that we were early in the season," Hurley said. "You know, the Big East conference is the best conference in the country. So we went through some struggles but, you know, once we got out of that league and started playing non-conference teams again, we've been back to that team that looked like the best team in the country."

The Huskies started the season 14-0 before losing to XU at Cintas Center on Dec. 31. The Musketeers defeated UConn again in Storrs on Jan. 25.
