Wichmer, who currently serves as executive director of Legal Services of Southern Missouri, will fill a vacancy on the court after Judge Jason R. Brown retired. In his current role, Wichmer helped lead efforts to provide legal representation and services primarily to low-income and elderly Missourians.

Prior to his joining Legal Services of Southern Missouri in 2016, Wichmer served as the city attorney for 11 years — handling litigation leveled at Springfield, advising city council on various legal matters and drafting bills and contracts.

Wichmer holds an undergraduate degree from Truman State University and a law degree from the University of Missouri.
