Dana Drive restaurant prepares to reopen after Redding firefighters put out small fire

Redding firefighters were on the scene early Wednesday morning to respond to a small fire reported at a restaurant located across the street from the Mt. Shasta Mall in Redding, according to the Shascom 911.

Firefighters put out a kitchen fire at Einstein Bros. Bagels at 913 Dana Drive, according to police scanner traffic.

No one was hurt and the fire was out before 9:30 a.m., according to a SHASCOM dispatcher and restaurant staff.

A bagel shop employee said workers were cleaning up after the fire on Wednesday morning. They hoped to reopen Einstein Bros. Bagels no later than Thursday, the employee said. The fire did not spread to nearby businesses.
