Entertaining theater fundraiser at The Impossible Playhouse

1201 N. Main St. | Doors open 6 p.m., show at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday | The Impossible Players have been challenged to write and perform a 10-minute skit in 10 days for the audience. A panel of judges will sit in on the Saturday performance and the audience will be asked to vote for their favorite script and performance. A silent auction of more than 30 items will be included. Spring Dance Recital 2023 at Sangre de Cristo Arts Center

210 N. Santa Fe Ave. | 7:30 p.m. Friday and again at 2 p.m. Saturday | School of Dance students of all levels showcase the skills they have learned over the course of the academic year. Open to families and parents of students, the recital is $5 per ticket. Tickets are available at tickets.sdc-arts.org.

Jehovah's Witness convention at Southwest Motors Event Center

Colorado State Fairgrounds, 950 S. Prairie Ave. | The event will run Friday, Saturday and Sunday | It is the group's first worldwide convention in a rented facility in three years. The theme is "Exercise Patience" and delegates from throughout southern Colorado have been inviting the community to learn about how patience can help us personally.

Wool dyeing workshop at El Pueblo History Museum

301 N. Union Ave. | 9 a.m. to noon | Deborah Martinez-Martinez will be teaching traditional wool dyeing using three natural dyes: Chamorro, yellow, and indigo. Travel the World with Colorado Artists Exhibition at Rawlings Library

100 E. Abriendo Ave.| 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and daily through May 27 | The Franco's Student Art Show is on display on the third floor of the library in the Hispanic Resource Gallery.

Kites and Coffee Festival at Civic Center Park

61 E. Civic Center Plaza | 10 a.m. | This Pueblo West Metro District event will take advantage of Pueblo West winds and feature a free kite giveaway for the first 20 participants. Coffee will be available from Ground Pounder Coffee.

SoCo Kitten Shower at St. Peter of the Apostle Episcopal Church

3939 W. Pueblo Blvd. | 10 a.m. | Participants can learn how to care for orphaned kittens during a demonstration and training by SoCo staff, volunteers and foster parents. Focus will be on bottle-feeding and caring for the felines. The shelter will accept donations for the bottle-feeding program. Cake will be served.

Quilting meeting at Senior Resource Development Agency

230 N. Union Ave., south side | 10 a.m. to noon | City Beat Modern Quilters will meet to design a thank you banner for SRDA in appreciation of the agency's support. Guests are welcome. Cost is $3 for guests or $24 for an annual membership.

Behind Union Depot, 200 W. B St. | 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. | Train rides last about 20 minutes and will be offered for $15 in the locomotive or $10 in the caboose. Cash or check is requested. Tickets can only be purchased during the event at the gift shop in a converted caboose behind the depot. Children ages 3 and younger ride free. Participants can also learn about railroad history at the museum and see the historic 2912 steam locomotive.

Unburied Treasures Car Show in Pueblo West

Copper River Family Entertainment, 295 S. Angus Ave. | noon | The 60s-themed car, truck and motorcycle show will feature best of show awards for people's choice, drivers' choice, motorcycle and custom entries. Events will include live bands, food and fun. Cost to enter a vehicle is $15 in advance or $25 on the day of the event. Call 719-251-0753 for more information.

Pueblo Has Talent at Pueblo Memorial Hall

1 City Hall Place | 3 p.m. | The top 25 acts will perform as the audience and celebrity judges vote for the top three finishers. Cost is $13. Tickets are on sale at pueblomemorialhall.com.

Pueblo Children's Chorale Spring Concert at Colorado State University Pueblo

Hoag Hall, 2200 Bonforte Blvd. | 3 p.m. | The event will feature the spring concert and the Rose Delacruz Outstanding Youth Awards, which recognize 21 Pueblo youth ranging from kindergarten through 12th grade who are doing amazing things in the community.
