The Abilene Recreation Division's annual Daddy-Daughter Dance — open to girls age 3-13 and their fathers or male role models — will be 7-9 p.m. Friday at the Abilene Convention Center, 1100 N. Sixth St.
This year's theme is "Boots and Bows."
Doors will open at 6:30 p.m., with photo packages available for sale. Tickets are $12 per person, and are available at abilenetx.gov/signup.
Rescue the Animals SPCA will present its annual Fur Ball dinner and dance for people and their dogs from 5-9 p.m. Feb. 19 at the Abilene Convention Center.
This year's theme is "Bow Wow Luau," and will feature a dinner catered by Tom and Lisa Perini, a doggie buffet from Pam's Pets and music by Abilene Community Band.

Abilene Idol finale
The finale of Abilene Idol 2022 will begin with the junior show at 3 p.m. Saturday at the Abilene Convention Center, 1100 N. Sixth St., followed by adult contestants at 7 p.m.

'The Empire Strikes Back'

A fundraiser fashion show benefiting the Noah Project, "Bald Men in Bad Wigs" will begin at 6 p.m. Thursday at Oak Street Arbor, 137 Oak St., with 10 local men competing to be named "Chrome Dome of Abilene."

Cirque Italia will present "Water Circus" Thursday through Feb. 21 in a white and blue big top tent in the Mall of Abilene parking lot, featuring a variety of acrobatic performances on a 35,000 gallon stage.

'A Very Sordid Evening'
Abilene Pride Alliance and Big Country AIDS Resources will present a fundraiser event, "A Very Sordid Evening," at 6:45 p.m. Feb. 18 at the Paramount Theatre, 352 Cypress St.
Doors will open at 6:15 p.m., with a showing of the film "A Very Sordid Wedding" at 7 p.m., followed by a live auction and discussion with two cast members and director Del Shores, led by former Abilenian Jess Cagle.

The Abilene Chamber of Commerce and the Taylor County AgriLife Extension Service will present the annual Texas Farm Ranch and Wildlife Expo from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Feb. 22 and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Feb. 23 at the Taylor County Expo Center, 1700 Highway 36.
Vendors will be open, and seminars, demonstrations and other educational opportunities will be presented.
