Dancing on Ice has confirmed the eighth celebrity contestant to take part in the 2024 series.

Comedian and writer Lou Sanders, who also won the popular Dave panel game show Taskmaster in 2019, is set to take to the ice next year when the skating show returns early next year.

Lou shared the news in an exclusive interview with Nihal Arthanayake on Radio 5 Live today (October 3).

"I’m nervous about cracking my head open, or just bashing the old head," she told Arthanayake.

"I can’t afford to lose any more brain cells. I’m also worried about my partner picking me up. He’s going to have to be very strong and very brave."

Lou is the third contestant announced today, alongside Gogglebox legend Stephen Lustig-Webb and Made in Chelsea star Miles Nazaire.

Other celebrity contestants confirmed for the 2024 series include Love Island's Amber Davies, Olympic champion and former Strictly Come Dancing star Greg Rutherford, S Club 7 singer Hannah Spearritt, Brookside and Coronation Street actress Claire Sweeney and world champion boxer Ricky Hatton.

Eight skating stars have been confirmed to date with a further four expected to be revealed soon. The typical Dancing on Ice line-up usually includes 12 celebrities in total.

Viewers are still waiting to learn who will join This Morning presenter Holly Willoughby as co-host following Phillip Schofield's departure from the channel in May.

ITV has yet to confirm a new presenter and the Dancing on Ice judging panel for 2024, though it's expected that skating icons Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean, plus Diversity star Ashley Banjo and Strictly Come Dancing's Oti Mabuse, will be back for more skating action.

Dancing on Ice will return to ITV and ITVX in early 2024.
