'Dancing Thru the Decades' : Fall Downtown Alive! Concert Series begins tonight

Sep. 8—The first in a series of four fall concerts at The Depot in Sanford kicks off tonight as the Band of Oz takes the stage to bring oldies and beach favorites to the audience.

The concert is the first of "Dancing Thru the Decades," which is part of the Fall Downtown Alive! Concert Series, according to Downtown Sanford Executive Director Kelli Laudate.

"The weather is perfect in September to go to The Depot for dancing and live music," she said. "Each week, we will feature a new food truck along with local breweries."

Besides tonight's concert, other scheduled include:

—Sept. 15 — 80z Nation (80s cover band)

—Sept. 22 — 120 Minutes (90s cover band)

—Sept. 29 — John Norris and his seven-piece band (country covers and originals)

This concert series was brought to the community in part by Central Carolina Hospital, Pinehurst Medical Clinic, FirstHealth of the Carolinas, Visit Sanford, Bharat Forge, First Bank, Kinetic by Windstream, Punic Properties, Smith & Smith Orthodontics and Life 103.1.

"This family friendly concert is sure to start your weekend off on the right foot," Laudate said. "We hope to see you at The Depot for Downtown Alive! each Thursday in September."
