Danelo Cavalcante back in court after prison escape

(WHTM) – A convicted murderer who kept many Pennsylvania communities on edge after his escape from prison over the summer is back in court on Friday morning.

Danelo Cavalcante appeared in a Chester County courtroom Friday morning for a preliminary hearing on the escape charges.

Back in August he scaled the walls of the Chester County Prison and was on the run for 2 weeks until police captured him nearly 20 miles away.

Along with the escape cavalcante is accused of burglarizing two homes, as well as stealing a gun and a van.

At the time of his escape cavalcante was serving a life sentence for killing his ex-girlfriend.
