Dangerous driver fined for cramming flat-pack wardrobe into car for motorway journey
A driver pulled over on a motorway for dangerous driving was found to be driving with a flat-pack wardobe across his car.
The IKEA customer was stopped by police for 'dangerously' driving on the M6 motorway.
The motorist was behind the wheel of a "vehicle in a dangerous condition," which endangered other road users through a lack of driving view, the Central Motorway Police Group (CMPG) said.
Pictures taken by officers show two long IKEA Pax wardrobe boxes positioned through the length of the car.
The driver, who was making a return journey from the nearby IKEA store in Wednesbury, was fined and received penalty points on their driving licence.
Taking to Twitter, CMPG posted: "Do you pay for @IKEA delivery or endanger other road users through your lack of driving view...
"Tough decision for some, in this case the delivery would of [sic] been considerably cheaper than the fine & points for driving a vehicle in a dangerous condition, M6 south J6. 3505."
