A good sign your Instagram post didn’t tell the story you intended: Having to tell the world hours later that, no, you’re not pregnant.

That was the story of Danica Patrick’s Sunday, when the former NASCAR driver and co-habitating girlfriend of Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers left some fans speculating about a post featuring a photo with her sister:

The original message, posted by Patrick on Sunday afternoon:

My sister Brooke and I sat down for a chat, and it was really good! We covered a lot of topics, especially pertaining to kids, and - I got some good advice!

As you can imagine, quite a few commenters immediately started guessing that Patrick sat down with her sister to chat about kids because, well, a kid might be on the way.

“Aaron Rodgers Jr. on the way????” “Nice! Do we read between the lines?” “Foreshadowing of a baby announcement?!” “Sounds like Mr. Rogers’ neighborhood is getting another resident!”

Patrick ended up shutting down that speculation with an addition to her original post, though she did admit that her initial words were somewhat misleading.

Clarification note (many hours after post) - NOT expecting!!!.... although I can see how the above text reads like that. *I must proof read better, perhaps - out loud.

Meanwhile, the previously presumed father was hanging out with “The Crew” at the Kentucky Derby, along with what seemed to be half of the NFL’s stars.
