Daniel Boone's Tucker Hogan, Berks Catholic's Brody Kline headline 2023 All-Berks wrestling team

Mar. 7—Three-time selections Tucker Hogan of Daniel Boone and Brody Kline of Berks Catholic headline the 2023 All-Berks wrestling team, as selected by a vote of the league's coaches and released Tuesday by the BCIAA.

Hogan and Kline, both juniors, are joined on the team by repeat selections in Berks Catholic's Marvin Armistead and Gabe Davis, Wilson's Jimmy Garcia and Ryan McMillan, Daniel Boone's Dean Houser, Hamburg's Charles Sheppard and Twin Valley's Ean Winchester.

Rounding out the 15-member team are Berks Catholic's Carmine Lenzi, Gunnar Maciejewski and Owen Reber, Wilson's Blaise Eidle and McKaden Speece and Hamburg's Chase Homan.

Berks Catholic's Derek Sola was voted Coach of the Year. He led the Saints to the BCIAA and District 3 Class 2A team titles and a fourth-place finish in the PIAA Team Tournament.

The Player of the Year will be named following the PIAA Championships, which are Thursday-Saturday at Hershey's Giant Center.

Six wrestlers were selected from Berks Catholic, four from Wilson and two each from Daniel Boone and Hamburg.

Here's a rundown of each wrestler:

Marvin Armistead, Berks Catholic: The junior takes a 42-5 record to the PIAA Championships. He won the BCIAA title at 133 pounds, then won championships at the District 3 Class 2A Section 2 Tournament and the District 3 Class 2A Tournament at 127 pounds before finishing fifth at the PIAA Class 2A Southeast Regional.

Gabe Davis, Berks Catholic: The junior 172-pounder takes a 40-8 record to the PIAA Championships. He won the BCIAA title, finished second in the District 3 Class 2A Section 2 Tournament, second in District 3 Class 2A and fourth at the PIAA Class 2A Southeast Regional.

Blaise Eidle, Wilson: The sophomore 172-pounder takes a 50-8 record to the PIAA Championships. He won the District 3 Class 3A Section 1 title, then finished third in District 3 Class 3A.

Jimmy Garcia, Wilson: The junior 121-pounder takes a 44-9 record to the PIAA Championships. He won the BCIAA title, then finished second in District 3 Class 3A Section 1 and District 3 Class 3A.

Tucker Hogan, Daniel Boone: The junior 189-pounder takes a 40-0 record to the PIAA Championship. He won the BCIAA title, the District 3 Class 3A Section 1 championship and the District 3 Class 3A title.

Chase Homan, Hamburg: The freshman 107-pounder takes a 38-7 record to the PIAA Championships. He finished second in BCIAA, second at the District 3 Class 2A Section 2 Tournament, third in District 3 Class 2A and fourth at PIAA Class 2A Southeast Regional.

Dean Houser, Daniel Boone: The junior takes a 37-6 to the PIAA Championships. He won the BCIAA title at 127 pounds, then won the 121-pound titles in District 3 Class 3A Section 1 and District 3 Class 3A.

Brody Kline, Berks Catholic. The junior 215-pounder takes a 41-4 record to the PIAA Championships. He won the BCIAA title, the District 3 Class 2A Section 2 championship, the District 3 Class 2A title and the PIAA Class 2A Southeast Regional championship.

Carmine Lenzi, Berks Catholic: The sophomore 152-pounder takes a 41-10 record to the PIAA Championships. He won the BCIAA and District 3 Class 2A Section 2 titles, finished second in District 3 Class 2A and fifth at the PIAA Class 2A Southeast Regional.

Gunnar Maciejewski, Berks Catholic: The freshman takes a 39-11 record to the PIAA Championships. He finished first at the District 3 Class 2A Section 2 Tournament, second in District 3 Class 2A and fourth at the PIAA Class 2A Southeast Regional.

Ryan McMillan, Wilson: The junior finished with a 45-8 record. He won the District 3 Class 3A Section 1 Tournament and finished fifth in District 3 Class 3A.

Owen Reber, Berks Catholic: The junior 285-pounder takes a 36-11 record to the PIAA Championships. He finished second in District 3 Class 2A Section 2 and District 3 Class 2A and placed third at the PIAA Class 2A Southeast Regional.

Charles Sheppard, Hamburg: The senior 285-pounder takes a 40-11 record to the PIAA Championships. He finished third in the District 3 Class 2A Section 2 Tournament, third in District 3 Class 2A and fourth at the PIAA Class 2A Southeast Regional.

McKaden Speece, Wilson: The freshman 107-pounder takes a 45-4 record to the PIAA Championships. He won the BCIAA and District 3 Class 3A Section 1 titles and finished second in District 3 Class 3A.

Ean Winchester, Twin Valley: The junior 284-pounder finished with a 36-6 record. He won BCIAA and District 3 Class 3A Section 1 titles and finished sixth in District 3 Class 3A.
