No

Please list your highlights of civic involvement

I am currently the vice president of the Carolina Crossing HOA (Pineville, NC). I actively serve on the Volunteering and Networking Committee of the Charlotte African-American Business Resource Group of Lincoln Financial Group.

What are, in your view, the most important issues facing Pineville, and what would your approach be to handling them if elected?

Some of the most important issues facing Pineville at this time are:

1. At certain times of the day, a high level of traffic congestion through/near Main Street. I would ensure smart choices are made regarding the safety of our residents who walk, drive and bike.

2. The ability of businesses to sustain economically. I have met a large amount of people who frequent our small and larger businesses downtown Pineville and surrounding, who do not live in Pineville. I will continue to engage with our Pineville residents to encourage them to support their local businesses.

3. More dining options that attract business as well as wonderful opportunities for Pineville and surrounding citizens to enjoy a variety of cuisines and also to make Pineville a place where people want to come dine, instead of driving to other areas of Charlotte.

Communities across Mecklenburg County have seen growth and development as well as a hot real estate market in recent years. How should Pineville approach development and housing issues?

Pineville as a town offers a small-town charm coupled with gorgeous neighborhoods, access to the Sugar Creek Greenway, a phenomenal Parks & Recreation department, its very own police department, and all the best of not living in a large city. Our town has done well with offering varied housing options that include apartment complexes, townhome communities and single-family homes with beautiful amenities. The town should continue to approach development of housing with a careful analyses of our traffic patterns, parking, walkability and ensure the influx of housing opportunities is steady versus swift.

What separates you from your opponent(s)?

What separates me from my opponents is i have lived in Pineville for a little over 13 years, I am a North Carolina native and I have an extremely diverse set of associates, friends, neighbors and colleagues, and this allows me to be able to see different perspectives, to be open-minded, fair, and approachable. I also have over 20 years professional experience with varied industries ranging from insurance to finance, and this experience provides me with the business acumen and interpersonal skills needed to be a Council member.

What one professional or political accomplishment are you most proud of?

I am happy to be able to run for Town Council- Pineville to bring diversity to our Town Government and am so appreciative of the support for my candidacy.
