Danishanko named Teacher of the Year at The Burlington School

Upper School Spanish and psychology teacher Heather Danishanko has been selected as The Burlington School's 2021-22 Teacher of the Year in an announcement made on Thursday, Dec. 2.

Danishanko is in her fifth year of teaching, all at TBS.

“This honor means so much to me. It is incredibly shocking to be singled out amongst the fantastic pool of teachers at The Burlington School,” said Danishanko.

Killian Barefoot, Upper School academic dean, added, “Ms. Danishanko is the finest example of what an educator can be: enthusiastic, organized, creative and thoughtful. She brings confidence and a passion for learning to the classroom every day.”

Danishanko is a 2017 graduate of King’s College. She earned bachelor’s degrees in English Literature and Spanish with certifications in English Secondary Education and Spanish K-12 Education.
