Danny Brown unveils new 'Best Life' video

The Q-Tip produced song appears on Brown's new album, "uknowwhatimsaying¿," which arrived on October 4 via Warp Records.

A few weeks after the album release, the rapper unveiled the accompanying music video for "Best Life," which was shot by filmmaker Augustin Vita in Brown's native Detroit, Michigan.

The cinematic visual follows the lives of a group of kids in the American city, as they navigate from childhood to young adulthood, playing video games and experiencing various run-ins with the law.

"I was just a young n***a, know what I was headed for/Jumped off the porch, really, I wasn't ready for it/Get up out the hood, find a way out/Route I'm on, either death or jail house," Brown raps while sitting in a car filled with flowers.

"Best Life" is one of several tracks that Q-Tip produced for Brown's latest studio effort, "uknowwhatimsaying¿," for which the renowned musician also handled production duties.

In a recent sit-down with Complex, Brown opened up about his collaboration with the "Amplified" rapper, who "works at his own pace."

"He's always been a fan of my stuff, I guess. The first time we met, we just talked for hours and hours about music. Tip had mentioned that he'd wanted me to get back to the 'Greatest Rapper Ever' era and stuff like that. The first thing I thought was "shit man, that's like 10 years old." I had to go back and damn near relearn how to rap," he commented.

"uknowwhatimsaying¿" marks Brown's fifth studio album, following his 2016 "Atrocity Exhibition." The full-length notably features guest appearances from Blood Orange, JPEGMAFIA, Obongjayar and Run the Jewels.

Earlier this year, the Detroit native also premiered his new comedy show, "Danny's House," on Viceland.

Brown will soon wrap up his North American tour in support of "uknowhatimsayin¿", with the last show scheduled on November 19 in Montreal, Canada.
