He is also known for his roles as Milo Foster in "Men at Work" and Jameson "Rooster" Bennett in "The Ranch."

Masterson is a member of the Church of Scientology. He is currently married to model and actor Bijou Phillips. The couple has one child, 10-year-old Fianna Francis Masterson.

Phillips filed for divorce from Masterson in September 2023 after nearly 12 years of marriage, citing irreconcilable differences as the reason for the split, per USA TODAY. Philips is reportedly seeking spousal support, restoration of her name to Bijou Phillips and full legal and physical custody of their daughter, with Masterson receiving child visitation.

Masterson was convicted in September 2023 of raping two women and was sentenced to 30 years to life in prison. The Associated Press reports that both attacks took place in Masterson's Hollywood-area home in 2003 when the actor was at the height of his fame.

Masterson was also accused of allegedly raping a longtime girlfriend, but a jury could not reach a verdict on the third count.

During the trial, prosecutors alleged that Masterson used his prominence in the Church of Scientology to avoid consequences for the attacks. The three women were also members at the time and blamed the church for their hesitancy in reporting their experience to the police, AP adds.

The church released a statement following the trial denying ever harassing the women. It also said it has “no policy prohibiting or discouraging members from reporting criminal conduct of anyone — Scientologists or not — to law enforcement.”

In December, authorities confirmed the actor had been admitted to North Kern State Prison in California. Prison records show Masterson will be eligible for parole in July 2042. The actor will be 66 years old by then.
